Do you need to find a new home for your corgi?
Do you need to rehome your corgi? Thank you for considering Lakeshore Pembroke Welsh Corgi Rescue. The following will give you some idea how we work:
- Any corgi that has broken skin on a person in a deliberate act of aggression must be identified. We currently do not take known biters into our rescue group for liability reasons. If a corgi is misrepresented to us and found to be a biter after we take them into our rescue for placement, the former owners will be open to the possibility of lawsuits if anyone is bitten and/or injured. Please be honest when surrendering your corgi anywhere.
- We require persons relinquishing a corgi for adoption to sign ownership of the corgi over to the club on a form that we provide. The corgi is then fostered in the home of one of our members until a suitable home can be found for it.
- All corgis taken in by LPWCR for re-homing will be spayed or neutered before being placed if that has not been done already.
- We take in only purebred corgis.
- We do not make the identity of the new owner available to the previous owner after the corgi is re-homed.
- Persons desiring to adopt a corgi through LPWCR are required to fill out an adoption application and are rigorously screened. We attempt to place corgis in the home that is best suited to the dog. Our goal is a safe, loving home for life.
If you would like to pursue re-homing your corgi through our club, please contact us, providing us with your phone number, and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Please be patient-we all work full time, have other obligations as well and have limited time to return calls. We provide this service because we love this breed but we are under no obligation to take your dog and will not if we think we cannot find it a home. Your dog is ultimately your responsibility and rescue is only one option.
